IN THE RIBBONS AT THE 2011 AMERICAN BOXER CLUB SPECIALTY and FUTURITY!! AND A CHAMPION AT 20 MONTHS
A Canadian Champion in two weekends of Showing
Champion Desert's Kid Rock started his show career the way we like it! A Winner! A Reserve Winners Dog from the 6-9 months class on his first weekend out with his owner/handler! Thank you to Judge Lorraine Boutwell at the Richmond shows.
Cole is a gorgeous classic boy with a wonderful deep red color. He is very short of back, with great angulation. He has a wonderful topline, with a high tail set. He has a lovely typey head that melts you at first site. His body is very smooth and muscular. The Judges have complimented his movement time and time again.
As it happened, Cole was the only Desert Boxer to attend the 2011 American Boxer Club National Shows. He competed in the Futurity and the Specialty from the 15-18 mos. and 12-18 mos classes respectively. We are so proud of this boy as he placed 4th in the Futurity and 2nd in the HUGE specialty class. We could not have been better represented at this prestigious event. Cole was asked to exhibit at the Judges training seminar at this National event due to his excellent attributes.
At 17 months, with limited showing, Cole had garnered both majors and only needed a single point to become a Champion. In Monroe LA at the age of 20 months Cole was awarded his 3rd major by prestigious Boxer Breeder Judge John Connolly. This recognition also made Cole a Champion!! This is the first Champion for owners Judith and Armando, (shown with Judith bottom left) but I don't think it will be their last. They are dedicated and loving owners. We are so thankful for their love and care of Cole. We have to grin as we look back and think of this little dark-faced boy that we nicknamed "Caveman" when he was just out of the whelping box. You see, Cole's favorite playground was under our bed. He would peak out from the dark and you could barely see him because of that beautiful black mug. Then along came a lady from thousands of miles away to see this little boy. It was love at first site when Judith saw that dark face and hugged that little chunky body. We are so happy that Cole found such a wonderful home with owners Judith and Armando Aguilar. They love this boy from the bottom of their hearts. And, we are sure that same love is returned by Cole.
Cole and his owners took a trip to Canada this year (2013) to see if they could attain a Canadian Championship. Cole didn't let them down. In two weekends of showing Cole attained his Canadian Championship while garnering a Best of Opposite Sex and Select Dog. It was also very fitting for Cole to have to Grandma Cheryl Jennings on the lead when he was awarded the Canadian Championship.
ARE WE PROUD OF THIS BOY! YES SIREE!
Cole's pedigree has BEST IN SHOWS on both Dam and Sire sides. The pedigree is also strengthened by LOM's and DOM's on both sides. Cole has a sister, Chica, who is a Canadian Champion from the 6-9 puppy classes. Cole's brother, Cade became an American Champion in the same month as Cole and, not to be out-done, his sister, Bryn, has also earned her American Championship. What a fabulous litter. These puppies helped to earn their Sire an American Sire of Merit and a Canadian Sire of Merit, and their Dam an American Dam of Merit.
Cole was handled to perfection by Ike Liotto and Tina Starr throughout his American show career. Thanks to both, for their care and expert handling of this precious boy.
These pictures of Cole are all taken before 20 months. As he matures he is getting more handsome all the time!! Watch for Cade in a ring near you as he competes in the US to attain his Grand Championship.
